Blåvand bunkermuseum
As always when BIG holds the pen spectacular architecture is to await. Blåvand Bunkermuseum is no exception as it challenges the notation of a traditional building. Instead of building above ground the museum is integrated into the surroundings with beautiful precision.
SG contributes to the vision of the architect “vacuum rather than volume, transparency rather than gravity” with our design of the 6,5 meters high glasses spanning between floor and roof without any profiles or glass fins. A challenge indeed, but that´s how we like it!
To cope with the extraordinarily tall, mullion free façade our engineers had to think outside the box and design a whole new system and an exceptionally rigid glass. Of course without compromising the transparency of the façade. This is cooperation and engineering at its best.
