technical complexity. The building is an independent part of Biomedicum, which will hold a total of about 1,700 researchers and other staff, making it one of Europe’s largest research laboratories.
The technical complexity of the project is also reflected in the design and function of the facades, where the final product after thorough design, testing and development of a new facade system resulted in a full-scale mock-up. On the ”surface” a relatively common glass façade with screen printed glass, but the facade include a complete cladding system with integrated windows.
The newly developed cladding system is a structural glazing system where the glass is glued to an underlying structure in the factory, which in turn is applied to mounting profiles on the module.
