Wergelandsveien, Oslo

Wergelandveien 7 was in desperate need of renovation. The building’s façade was in bad shape and the energy consumption high. At the same time the architectural appearance of the building had to be preserved.

The solution was a joint collaboration between Skandinaviska Glassystem, Trimo and MAP architects where the existing façade was clad with a modular façade system based on the Q-air technology. The system has superior energy efficiency and air/water tightness resulting in a remarkably low Ucw value of 0,23 W/m2K, reducing the energy consumption by 60%.

The modular system meant that the building could be in full function during the whole construction process. Once the façade was in place the old windows could be removed from the inside.

The project is a good example of how old buildings can be updated to top modern standard without compromising with aesthetics and operation!

Have a look at the linked video describing the process!
