Kistefos museums well renowned exhibitions of art, industrial history and sculptures will soon be supplemented with a new museum building drawn by BIG architects.

Instead of drawing a building for the proposed site close to the old mill BIG chose to move the location down to the river that characterizes the area. The result is a building, bridge and sculpture, all packed into one. The bridge connects the sculpture galleries in the landscape and serves as an exhibition space in itself.

The building twists across the water and so does the glass facade designed by SGS. The double curved façade will be distanced from the main structure to further emphasise the façade as a skin stretched along the outline of the building.
