Profilbygget” is an office building that is commissioned by the IT Fornebu Group. The location in the very center of Fornebu really gives the building the attention it deserves!

The original idea of the double layer façade was to give the building a green surrounding using trees and plants between the outer and inner façade layers.
This type of façade is also very energy sufficient using insulated glass with low U-value and a strong sun coating. Operable glass windows enable natural ventilation and create a pleasant climate around the year in the huge foyer.

Skandinaviska Glassystem manufactured a custom made steel support for the huge glass panels. The deflection of the supporting steel in the bottom, due to the weight of the glass, had to be compensated by using a special adjustable foot, after glass installation.
“One of the biggest challenges was to perform assembly and logistics in the limited workspace that was offered.” says project leader Anneli Davidsson at Skandinaviska Glassystem.
