Aftonstjärnan

“Aftonstjärnan” theater held an inauguration of their new foyer in October, 2009. The extension is made entirely in glass and steel, and was designed from an original building permit from 1903.

The managers of “Aftonstjärnan”, worked together with Skandinaviska Glassystem to interpret the old building permit and to make a modern design with the existing architecture still showing.

The system used is the “SG-Distance” where the glass is distanced from the steel and gives the appearance that it’s floating above the supporting structure. The free glass edges inside and outside of the foyer gives the structure a light impression.
